RIP Dwayne McDuffie

Very sad to hear that Dwayne McDuffie has died suddenly today. So young, so strong, so firm of conviction. He worked to make comics a more diverse place, and a better place for all, readers and characters alike. The artform would be worse off without him, and is going to be a bit emptier without him now.

For everything he did, from Damage Control to Milestone to the animated version of Grant Morrison + Frank Quitely’s All-Star Superman (out today, as it happens), this here might be my favorite thing Dwayne ever did; taking it to the Marvel higher-ups about depictions of Black characters. Rest in peace.
